cold in the mornin

another beautiful mornin. it's a bit nippy, but very refreshing. i didn't make it to the Balloon Fiesta this morn and i'm not sure even if the Balloons will get up this morn. weather plays a factor in this every day. i was sooo tired last nite after a very long day at church, i didn't feel i could make it this morn. but since this is the Land of Manana (tomorrow), so there's manana(spanish word). i woke this morn early after all, but not early enough to get to the fiesta in time. gotta set that alarm for no later than 5am on fiesta time. the sooner you're there, the sooner you can beat the traffic. it can take an hour to actually get into the parking area to see the fiesta-whoa!....anyways, i thought i'd show you a photo of me without a hat on. i know it's rare, and this was taken saturday nite at Madison's birthday party. and my hair was being wild...lol. i did have a hat on only few minutes earlier. i think i'll go back to the hats....lol....so anyways, yesterday was looooong. first i had to go pick up the cookies at Marsha's that she was doing for church services. since she had Madison, she needed a spare hand. then i was at church at 9am to meet Jennie for the early mornin services. it was a WONDERFUL service conducted by one of our ministeral candidates for our church. our minister retired just last month and we have 3 candidates coming in this month to talk, do a workshop, meet all the groups, and do a question & answer session with the congregation. so after the first service, i met up with Marsha to take care of Madison while she attended the second service. WOW!!! what a wonderful time with Madison. this was our first time ever alone together. i took her to the nursery and stayed with her so she could play. well she just kept getting toys and coming back and crawling in my lap. she didn't really socialize with the other kids, which is ok. she felt safe in my arms which was fine by me. since she wasn't socializing, i decided to bring her to my place for a moment for i was concerned i left my coffee pot on (& yep i did). she came in and saw my doggies thru the sliding glass door. she insisted on opening that door although it was locked. she just had to meet my doggies. they're bigger than her, so i picked her up and let them in. Jimmy had disappeared before i did open the door, so she only got to meet Boo. i let her pet her & Boo welcomed her kindly (Boo is great with people here at our place). Once i put Boo back outside, Madison went on to play elsewhere. we stayed only a few moments, then it was back to the church just in time for second service to get out. she fell asleep on the way back in the car. she didn't cry for her Grammy or her mother. she was totally comfortable with me. it just gave me warm fuzzies all over. it was a great little adventure. now i know she'll be fine with just me should i take her anywhere else like just her & i hiking together. i absolutely LOVE this little girl. she's a treasure in my heart......so after, getting back to church, there i was for the remainder of the day until 7pm. i ate lunch there, then began my work shift @ 1pm. did sit in on the question & answer session for Rev Lynn Johnson (ministeral candidate). she rocked our congregation and set the bar very high for the next candidates. i'm biased already-i want her to be our next minister!....so the day unfolded the rest of the day. once i got home, i was beat. so beat, i didn't even turn the tv on to watch the sunday night football game. i just needed total peace & quiet. i got it once the doggies settled down. a good night's rest and i'm ready for today. still much to do before work tonite again. but for the next 3days, i'll be off and can truly relax and enjoy myself. a new beginning, another dawn on the horizon....

She is so cute. Too bad about the balloons but I can understand. Don't want any accidents.

Oh she is just precious!!! What a joy to get to spend time with her alone even! I like your hair and I like it with a hat too! I look awful in hats...I'd love to be able to skip doing my hair and throw on a cute hat. Have a great day!

Well, how about that! You're from Ft. Thomas! I live in Hebron. Small world, huh? If you ever do make it back here we'll have to have a cup of coffee together. What took you to New Mexico? That's a place I'd love to visit some day.

You look great without your hat! I wish I could wear a hat. Some gals can pull it off and some can't. Unfortunately I'm one of the those!
