sunflower

finally found sum sunflowers on the road this year. this was on the way back from the lake. i took a cluster of them however i liked the single shots best. O how I wish I was at the lake today already. lots to do today before my dinner engagement tonight. i've got sum of it done already. mostly need to clean the yard and it's hot already @ 9am this morn. unusual i put the air on immediately when I wake up. but I did. so now that breakfast is done 2 hrs later, I'm off into the yard-ugh! all in a day's work. but finally getting 2 it after spraining my right thumb last week. this sunflower makes my day and will contemplate it to bring more sunshine in my heart today. it always helps chase the blues away....

my classmate's new puppy....Liza invited me over to take photos of him and her today. he is so cute. serious look, but all play. if i didn't have my 2 already, i'd sure love to have Winston. great afternoon chatting with Liza as to whether we are or are knot taking Practitioner 2 class. we meet with our minister on the 22nd. decisions will be made if they haven't already. i'm probably in but i'm knot looking forward to the long 30 week haul again. anyways, we chatted much and i have a better understanding of her reservations. there will be nobody new in the class. only the 4 of us from Practitioner 1 class provided we all 4 take the class. only time will tell. right now i'm still enjoying my summer. dinner guests tomorrow night and a new photoshop program. if i get stuck playing a lot in photoshop, who knows, maybe i won't take Prac 2 either.....lol

disappointment

thought i'd put an ordinary photo here, but i like it. reminds me of the passage about still waters. Psalms 23rd i believe.....anyways, last night i had 2 disappointments. one with my hair. i've been growing a "tail" on my neckline. it's getting long but i realized it isn't very thick. i went to put a rubber band around it and it won't stay on. i also bought small hair bands for it and they won't stay on either. so i'm disappointed in my "tail". so i either have to start over or at least start growing more hair with it to make it thick enough to band it......the second disappointment last night was the movie Angels and Demons with Tom Hanks. it wasn't as good as The Da Vinci Code, although it did remind me there are still mad people in this world..mad as in ignorantly crazy..maybe it's me and movies anymore. this was only the second movie i've seen all year and have been disappointed in both. i keep finding my books more interesting but i wanted a break from reading last night. so off to the dollar theater. i did see sum previews of 2 other movies i may go see= the latest Harry Potter and The Proposal. only time will tell if i get there.....today is another day. knot sure what i'm going 2 do with it, but hopefully no disappointments....

Parade in Cuba

on the way to the lake in the small town of Cuba, they were having a parade. no clue as to what it was all about..
it was mostly people riding horses. different costumes. different ages...

San Gregorio Lake

my road trip today...
ultimate destination...
worth the drive. a great day of R & R. this is a small lake, but pleasantly nice. we sat for lunch. strolled around the lake..and Rio the dog played a little in the water. took photos to & from (which i will post soon). we chatted about other road trips. we could be road buddies. maybe a road trip a month anywhere in New Mexico. many places i have yet to see. next trip in 2 weeks, back to Chaco Canyon and she's going to show me where to hike up where i can get an airal view of the ruins. look forward to that.....nice day today!
